SCHEDULER, THERMAL HARDWARE (STARSHIP)

As a scheduler supporting the Starship Thermal Hardware team, you will manage planning, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, internal distribution, integration, and test scheduling operations. You will work closely with engineers, technicians, supply chain, finance, and more to deliver the world's first fully reusable vehicle capable of carrying both crew and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars, and beyond, and return safely. In addition to daily planning responsibilities, we are seeking someone excited about the opportunity to drive real improvements in the heatshield production process, as well as help inform and steer both tactical and strategic decisions related to inventory management and distribution. Ultimately, this individual will need to be a flexible self-starter who enjoys creating and improving processes, solving challenges/puzzles, finding creative opportunities to help teams move faster, and thrives in an ambiguous, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide tactical and strategic long-range scheduling expertise to our production teams


• Coordinate and review input from engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and business development to support and maintain Master Schedules for products using Microsoft Office or applicable software as required


• Work across all departments to understand critical work requests ahead and behind targets to mitigate schedule impact risks


• Work across all departments to ensure MRP dates align with current vehicle products


• Prepare daily work schedules, track work progress, update and communicate project critical path schedules, and advise leadership of needed adjustments to daily work activities


• Support accuracy of internal logistics movement of critical work


• Push/pull work into the shop to improve lead times, reduce stagnation, and meet schedule needs

• Build strong relationships with customers as well as internal suppliers and establish high-accuracy means of communication for both estimated hardware needs and completion dates


• Develop and support efforts to streamline assigned products and automate production processes as applicable


• Organize and communicate the daily priorities to production coordinators, team leads and supervisors as required


• Provide daily visibility, weekly status, and monthly reviews on schedule performance


• Create and leverage metrics using queries and Excel to highlight shortages and determine schedule risks

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 2 years of manufacturing scheduling experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 4 years of manufacturing scheduling experience


• 2+ years of experience with MS Office


• 2+ years of practical experience with ERP/MRP systems in a production environment


• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel


• Proficiency with PowerBi


• Experience writing queries with SQL


• Familiarity with lean principles, six sigma and Kaizen concepts


• Project management professional certification


• Self-motivated, quick learner, and ability to prioritize efforts to meet company goals

• Overhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day

• Lift/Carry: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day


• Climb (ladder/stairs): up to 1 hour per day


• Kneel/Crouch: up to 1 hour per day


• Upper body twist: Up to 6 hours per day


• Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees: 30 minutes or less per day


• Candidate must be capable of safely working at heights (up to 500ft), in confined spaces, using an air purifying respirator, and performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the .
