You describe what you want to practise — a job interview for a role, seniority and interview format, or a visa interview, an admissions or thesis defence, a presentation with audience questions, a media interview, an investor pitch or a negotiation — in one of 50+ languages; an AI interviewer in the matching persona asks questions and follows up by voice or text, scores each answer for relevance, depth, clarity, and produces a coaching report you can retry against. The free plan includes 2 interviews a month with no card, and the report for your first completed interview is shown in full; Pro is $20/month or $200/year, and one-time credit packs start at $9. Pro can choose among 4 model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI) across 12 round formats. It does not feed you answers during a real interview. The interviewer follows up on what you actually said rather than reading a fixed list, and the report ends with a retry plan for the weakest answers.

Formats: general, technical, behavioral, recruiter screen, system design, managerial, case study, technical assessment, leadership, panel, salary negotiation, final / executive. Within each you set the role, seniority and focus area, so a technical round for a senior backend engineer asks different questions from a case round for a consulting graduate. Questions come in 50+ languages.

Each answer is scored for relevance, depth, clarity against the rubric of the round you chose, and the report says what each score is based on so you can check its reasoning. It is most useful on specific, complete answers; a one-line answer gets a one-line critique. We do not publish accuracy statistics we cannot show you.

Yes. Name the company during setup and the interviewer researches its publicly described interview process before generating the round, so the questions follow that format rather than a generic one. We do not have insider question banks or leaked questions; the research uses public sources.

Yes, on every plan. The AI resume builder produces ATS-friendly PDFs from guided sections with a choice of templates, and the resume analyzer scores an existing resume against a target role and lists what is missing. The free plan includes 3 resume generations and 2 analyses a month; Pro removes those caps.

Yes! You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings with no cancellation fees. Your Pro features will remain active until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will automatically switch to the FREE tier.

Canceling is simple! Go to your account settings and click "Cancel Subscription". Your Pro access continues until the end of your current billing period - no cancellation fees or penalties. After that, you'll switch to our FREE tier with 2 interviews and 3 AI resume generations per month.

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and other payment methods supported by our payment partner Polar.sh. All payments are processed securely with bank-level encryption.

There is no separate student plan. The free plan (2 interviews a month, no card) and one-time credit packs from $9 are the low-cost routes. If you run a university career service and want access for a cohort, email support@virtualinterview.ai.

Video/audio issues are usually browser permission related. Ensure you've granted camera and microphone permissions to virtualinterview.ai in your browser settings. Try refreshing the page, clearing browser cache, or switching to an incognito/private window. If issues persist, try a different browser or check your antivirus/firewall settings.

Slow responses are usually connectivity or a busy AI provider. Refresh the page, check your connection, or switch to typed answers if voice transcription is lagging. If it persists, email support@virtualinterview.ai with the time it happened.

Click "Forgot Password" on the login page, enter your email address, and we'll send you a password reset link within minutes. Check your spam folder if you don't receive it. If you're still having trouble, contact our support team at support@virtualinterview.ai for assistance.

Yes. Everything runs in the browser on phones and tablets: interviews, reports, progress and the resume tools. Voice answers need microphone permission; you can switch to typed answers at any point.

Yes. Our AI-powered features — including interview feedback, resume analysis, question generation, and scoring — use third-party AI service providers. When you use these features, your input data (interview responses, resume text, job descriptions) is sent to our AI providers for real-time processing. The AI provider does not retain your data after generating a response.

Yes. We apply data minimization principles and redact personally identifiable information (PII) before sending data to our AI provider where technically feasible. Only the minimum data necessary for each feature is transmitted. For full details, see the AI Data Processing section of our Privacy Policy.

You can avoid AI data processing by not using AI-powered features (interview coaching, resume analysis, question generation, scoring). Core account features that do not require AI processing remain available. If you have previously submitted data through AI features, you can request deletion via your account settings or by contacting support@virtualinterview.ai.

No. Under our agreements with our AI providers, data submitted through the API is processed in real time to generate a response and is not retained afterward. Your data is not used to train or improve any AI models. We work with our AI providers under data processing safeguards aligned with GDPR and CCPA requirements.

Yes, we take security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption. We follow GDPR and CCPA guidelines. Your interview recordings and personal information are never shared with third parties without your explicit consent. You can delete your data anytime from your account settings.

No, never. Your interview practice sessions are completely private and confidential. We do not share recordings, transcripts, or performance data with employers, recruiters, or any third parties without your explicit consent. You have full control over your data and can delete recordings at any time.

We retain your account data and interview recordings while your account is active. You can delete individual interviews, resumes, or the whole account at any time; deleted data is removed from our systems within 30 days, as described on the account deletion page and in the privacy policy.
