AI mock interview tools compared (2026)
Nine tools grouped by what they are actually for. No star ratings — we publish this page and it would be worthless if we scored ourselves. Every price is quoted from the vendor's own page.
The short answer
Full simulated round, scored answers, follow-ups: a practice tool — VirtualInterview.ai, Interview Sidekick, Huru, or Big Interview if you want a course around it.
A real person on the other side: Aced peer mocks (free with monthly credits) or interviewing.io (paid senior engineers, free AI Interviewer for coding).
Delivery, not content: Yoodli — pace, fillers, eye contact, from $8/mo billed annually.
Answers fed to you during a live interview: Final Round AI. A different category with a different risk; none of the practice tools above do this, and neither do we.

Tool by tool
A browser-based mock interviewer. You choose role, seniority, format (general, technical, behavioral, recruiter screen, system design, managerial, case study, technical assessment, leadership, panel, salary negotiation, final / executive), company and language; it asks, follows up on what you said, scores each answer for relevance, depth, clarity, and ends with a retry plan. Also has an ATS resume builder and resume analyzer.
Stronger at
- Questions and feedback in 50+ languages
- Follow-ups on your actual answer, not a fixed script
- One-time credit packs from $9 for a single interview cycle
- Free plan needs no card
Weaker at
- • No human interviewers — AI only
- • No live copilot, by design
- • No course curriculum; you learn from the reports
- • Newer and smaller than the incumbents; few third-party reviews yet
- • Free plan is 2 short interviews a month, not unlimited

A free, no-login practice tool from Grow with Google (2022–2026) that asked five questions, transcribed spoken answers and highlighted talking points and most-used words.
Retired in April 2026; the URL now redirects to a generic interview-prep article that suggests practising with Gemini Live.
Who should pick which
Run the specific round three times with a practice tool and re-answer the weakest questions. A one-time credit pack ($9 for 5 interviews here) costs less than a month of anything.
Start a free interviewUse a problem bank for volume, interviewing.io's free AI Interviewer for timed coding rounds, and a practice tool for the behavioural round everyone under-prepares.
Technical interview practiceYoodli for delivery (fillers, pace), then a practice tool so the content of the answers improves too. Neither replaces saying the answers out loud twenty times.
Video interview practicePractise in that language. VirtualInterview.ai runs the whole round — questions, follow-ups, feedback — in 50+ languages; most of the others are English-first.
See plansHow this page is put together
We publish VirtualInterview.ai, so this is not an independent review and we do not pretend it is. What we can do is be checkable: every price above was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 2026-09-20 and is quoted as displayed, with the source linked. Where a vendor hides the price behind sign-up, the table says so. We list where each competitor is better than us because a comparison that never concedes anything is not worth reading.
We do not assign star ratings, to ourselves or to anyone. Third-party ratings live on the review sites; we link to vendors, not to reviews we cannot vouch for. Feature claims for other tools are taken from their public pages; we have not run every product end to end. If something here is out of date, email support@virtualinterview.ai and we will fix it and bump the date.
Questions people ask
There is no single best one; it depends on what you need. For a full simulated round with follow-ups and scored answers, use a practice tool such as VirtualInterview.ai, Interview Sidekick or Huru. For delivery coaching (pace, fillers, eye contact) use Yoodli. For a human on the other side use Aced peer mocks (free, credit-metered) or interviewing.io (paid engineers). Final Round AI is a different category — a live copilot that suggests answers during a real interview.
Google retired Interview Warmup in April 2026; the URL now redirects to a general interview-prep article that suggests practising with Gemini Live. The closest free replacements for a no-cost, browser-based first attempt are VirtualInterview.ai's free plan (2 interviews a month, no card) and interviewing.io's free AI Interviewer for coding rounds.
No. A copilot (Final Round AI is the best-known) listens to a live interview and shows you suggested answers in real time. A mock interview tool asks the questions before the real interview and tells you how you did. Most employers treat undisclosed live assistance as cheating; practice tools carry no such risk. VirtualInterview.ai is a practice tool only.
Free without a card: VirtualInterview.ai (2 interviews a month), Yoodli Starter (5 lifetime sessions), Aced peer mocks (monthly credits), interviewing.io's AI Interviewer (coding and system design), Interview Sidekick's free tier, and Final Round AI's free tier (materials and job-description parsing, but not the copilot or practice mode). Huru has a trial; Big Interview has no free plan on its public pricing page.
VirtualInterview.ai generates questions and feedback in 50+ languages. Huru advertises multi-language support. The others are English-first; check each vendor's page for the current list.
Each price was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 2026-09-20 and is quoted as displayed. Where a vendor shows prices only after sign-up (Aced, interviewing.io, Interview Sidekick's paid plan), the table says so instead of guessing.
