Senior/Principal AI Platform Engineer, Agentic Systems

As an AI Platform Engineer focused on Data Infrastructure, you'll be at the forefront of building the critical backbone—the Knowledge Graphs and Vector Databases—that transition machine learning ideas from concept to production in record time.

Your work will directly shape the Roblox experience for millions of users, empowering a new era of AI-driven creativity, safety, and connection. The core focus of this role is to engineer and scale the foundational data infrastructure that grounds and empowers all of Roblox’s AI applications.

You will:

• Design, develop, and operate Knowledge Graph systems for serving, ingesting data, and executing graph queries at massive scale for critical ML applications (e.g., recommendations, fraud detection, safety, and social proof).


• Own and significantly improve our Vector Database infrastructure, scaling it to support 100B+ vector searches and ensuring high-performance, low-latency lookups.


• Build robust, highly available APIs and services to seamlessly integrate Knowledge Graphs and Vector DBs into new agentic and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) applications.


• Engineer large-scale, high-throughput data pipelines capable of ingesting billions of records daily and serving millions of queries per second to power state-of-the-art ML models.


• Research, evaluate, and pioneer the adoption of the latest advancements in VectorDB technology, Knowledge Graphs, and Ground Truth Data labeling practices to define new industry standards.

You have:

• 5+ years of professional experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems and production-grade ML infrastructure.


• Proven expertise in AI platform features, with a specific focus on ML Data Infrastructure.


• Deep understanding of the architectural challenges and solutions for highly performant Vector Databases (e.g., indexing, partitioning) and Knowledge Graphs (e.g., query languages, serving architectures).


• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.


• A strong builder’s mindset, driven by a passion for pioneering AI platform innovation and delivering technology that connects people globally.
