We are looking for a seasoned comms professional to support the growing international communications team. Brazil is considered a priority market for Pinterest, representing a huge opportunity. This role will be THE comms person managing Brazil. They will be instrumental in adapting a global comms strategy into a local market and in turn ensuring that Pinterest’s awareness continues to climb not only as the positive place on the internet for consumers, but also an attractive place for top brands to spend their advertising dollars.
What you’ll do:
- Lead for external communications in Brazil : You will take the lead on the communications plan and will be responsible for its execution
- Communications will cover consumer, b2b, corporate and policy comms (as well as any reactive comms needs)
- You will be expected to manage high profile media relationships which can include pitching as well as any issue management
- Agency management: You’ll be responsible for managing the in market PR agency, which will include instructions on work, monitoring, reporting and budgeting. This may include identifying opportunities that require additional project budget.
- Exec comms: The role will require working closely with the in market senior management team - seeking opportunities to support and amplify at events and within media. In addition you will need to be fully across any business case studies to promote Pinterest as an attractive platform for advertisers.
- Cross functional partnerships: You will be required to work closely with in-market cross functional teams, ensuring alignment on plans and opportunities. As well as awareness of any moments that may require brand protection. Additionally you will be part of a global communications team and therefore will adopt processes delivering a unified and efficient function.
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience ideally in a senior inhouse role for a global brand
- Experience of working in tech or social media company
- Strong understanding of the Brazilian media landscape with existing media relationships
- Experience across multiple comms disciplines including corporate, issues management, policy and consumer
- Comfortable working with and advising senior leadership
- Excellent writer
- Detail oriented
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A can-do attitude, and someone who holds themselves accountable for deliverables and outcomes
- A team player
- Excellent English communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, or equivalent experience.

- We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
- This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration at least once per week. Therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from Sao Paulo office.
