The Infrastructure organization builds and operates the foundational systems that power all of Robinhood’s products and services. This group focuses on reliability, scalability, and developer productivity by delivering platforms, tooling, and compute systems that support engineering teams across the company. • The Backend Platform team enables fast, safe, and maintainable backend development at scale by building application-layer frameworks, secure dependency management systems, and developer tooling. This team also plays a key role in advancing Go adoption across Robinhood by building shared libraries, improving language tooling, and supporting engineers in developing production-ready Go services.


• The Provisioning team focuses on infrastructure lifecycle management across AWS and Kubernetes environments. This team builds systems and controllers that provision infrastructure, supports application teams with cloud resources, and improves developer workflows for deploying and managing services.


• The Kubernetes Compute team builds and operates a highly available, scalable Kubernetes-based compute platform. This team ensures that container infrastructure supports reliable application deployments, integrates core platform capabilities, and enables multi-region scalability for Robinhood’s systems.


• The Technical Assurance Platform team builds and maintains a centralized service catalog and systems that track service ownership, performance, and reliability across Robinhood’s infrastructure. This team develops tools and systems that surface operational insights and support engineering and leadership decision-making.

As a Senior Software Developer, you will lead the design and delivery of infrastructure platforms and systems that support developers and services across Robinhood. You will take ownership of complex technical projects, guide architectural decisions, and mentor engineers while contributing directly to code and system design. You will partner closely with infrastructure and product teams to improve system reliability, scalability, and developer workflows at scale!

This role is based in our Toronto office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

• Lead the design and implementation of infrastructure platforms, services, and tooling that support large-scale application development


• Own and deliver complex, multi-phase technical projects, from design through production rollout and iteration


• Develop backend systems and shared services using languages such as Go and Python, setting standards for code quality and maintainability


• Design and improve Kubernetes-based systems, including cluster architecture, controllers, and deployment workflows


• Partner with engineering teams to provision, optimize, and scale cloud infrastructure across AWS environments


• Diagnose and resolve high-impact system issues across distributed systems, improving reliability and performance

What you bring

• You have significant experience building backend or infrastructure systems using languages such as Go, Python, or similar


• You have strong experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as AWS


• You have experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and building reproducible environments


• You have experience leading technical projects and guiding architectural decisions


• You are comfortable mentoring engineers and contributing to team-wide technical direction
