Open Government Products

Open Government Products (OGP) is a specialized, experimental development unit within the Government Technology Agency (GovTech) of Singapore. Established in 2018, the organization operates as an internal startup, leveraging a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and product managers to build digital public goods. By bypassing traditional bureaucratic hurdles, OGP focuses on rapid prototyping and user-centric design to solve complex public sector challenges, aiming to modernize government services through agile development practices. The team is widely recognized for its commitment to open-source software and transparency, having developed over 40 products that serve both citizens and government agencies. Notable projects include FormSG, which digitized government form processes, and Parking.sg, which modernized parking payments. OGP serves as a model for how public institutions can integrate the speed and innovation of the private tech sector while maintaining the high security and reliability standards required for government infrastructure.
