About the job

This position is needed to build new features and capabilities in source integration to unlock cloud sources and warehouse data in segment for our customers and activate it for customers destinations.

As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you’ll build and scale systems that process 1B+ rows everyday, helping our customers unlock value of their data from external systems and activate it to various destinations via Segment capabilities. You will work on cloud sources such as Salesforce, Hubspot integration and warehouses such as Snowflake, AzureDB integrations.

We iterate quickly on these products and features and learn new things daily — all while writing quality code. We work closely with product and design and solve some of the toughest engineering problems to unlock new possibilities for our customers. Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

Build new features and services for Segment integration with cloud sources and warehouses.

Work with lead and PM to drive optimal solutions and own the execution and timely delivery.

Collaborate on detailed design documents and implementation plans for features slated for development

Support strategic technical initiatives that impact the entire engineering organization

Rapidly acquire new technical skills and knowledge in a fast-paced, high-delivery environment

Help more junior developers by mentoring them, providing guidance, and positively influencing their careers.

Perform thorough and thoughtful code reviews to help maintain a high standard of code quality

Help resolve technical issues/blockers as a developer on the team

Participate in an on-call rotation for our managed services.

*Required:

5-7 years experience writing production-grade code in a modern programming language

Experience programming in one or more of the following: Go, Java, Python, or similar languages

Experience operating large-scale, distributed systems on top of cloud infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Have hands-on experience with container orchestration frameworks (e.g. Kubernetes, EKS, ECS)

Have experience with large scale async processing systems

Experience shipping services (products) following CI/CD development paradigm.

Good grasp of software engineering and how to build a system in scalable and extensive manner;

Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills to convey complex technical concepts effectively.

Comfortable asking questions and taking initiative to solve problems where it is often necessary to “draw the owl”

Location

This role will be remote, and based in India <Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra and New Delhi>.

Travel
