About the Role:
Gusto is looking for a Financial Crime Oversight Analyst to join our Financial Crime Oversight & Advisory organization. This role is critical to our mission of protecting the small businesses we serve by ensuring Gusto’s financial crime controls remain robust, compliant, and efficient as we scale.
In this role, you will go beyond simple reporting; you will use data to tell the story of our risk posture to leadership and regulators. You will serve as a bridge between the oversight function and our Product and Engineering teams, ensuring that financial crime risks are identified and mitigated throughout the product development lifecycle.
We are looking for a senior individual contributor who combines strong analytical capabilities with the ability to communicate complex insights to non-technical stakeholders. While you will support the operational foundations of oversight, such as exams and audits, you will also drive process improvements, automate workflows utilizing AI, and provide strategic visibility into the health of our compliance program.
About the Team:
The Financial Crime Oversight & Advisory team is responsible for second-line oversight of Gusto’s financial crime compliance program which spans across Gusto’s multiple products, jurisdictions, and regulatory obligations. We partner with internal stakeholders to meet regulatory expectations and ensure our platform remains safe for our customers.
Effective oversight depends on strong data analysis, clear communication, and proactive collaboration. This role plays a key part in elevating our oversight capabilities through data-driven insights and cross-functional partnership.

Our starting annual cash compensation amount for this role is between 89,000-109,000/year in Denver and 110,000-133,000/year for New York/San Francisco. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above. Compensation for this position also includes an equity package and performance bonuses.
Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.
Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required. This includes non-office days for hybrid employees.
