VirtualInterview.ai vs Prepfully
Prepfully is a marketplace: you pick a coach — its homepage counts close to two thousand, drawn from well-known companies — and pay for a mock interview or coaching session with that person, with an AI practice tool on the side. VirtualInterview.ai is an AI interviewer: start a round in a minute, any hour, get every answer scored. The difference is a specific human's judgement, bought by the session, versus unlimited reps at a flat price.
Buy a human when the stakes justify it; use AI rounds to arrive prepared for that human
A coach who has sat on the other side of the table at your target company can tell you things no model can. That session costs real money and you get one shot at it, so it is wasted on a candidate who has not rehearsed. VirtualInterview.ai is the rehearsal: general, technical, behavioral, recruiter screen, system design, managerial, case study, technical assessment, leadership, panel, salary negotiation, final / executive formats, follow-ups on your answers, a score for relevance, depth, clarity every time, 2 interviews a month free. Do the AI rounds first, then spend on the coach.
What each one is
VirtualInterview.ai is a browser-based AI mock-interview and resume tool for job seekers. You choose a role, seniority, interview format and one of 50+ languages; an AI interviewer asks questions and follows up by voice or text, scores each answer for relevance, depth, clarity, and produces a coaching report you can retry against. The free plan includes 2 interviews a month with no card; Pro is $20/month or $200/year, and one-time credit packs start at $9. It does not feed you answers during a real interview.

When to choose each
- You are in a final round at a specific company and want someone who has interviewed there to pressure-test you.
- You need career advice as much as interview practice — offer negotiation, level, team choice.
- Budget is not the constraint; time and access are.
- You want many rounds, not one, and you want them tonight.
- You are earlier in the process and want to fix the basics before paying anyone.
- You will interview in a language other than English (50+ languages).
- You want consistent, rubric-based scoring you can compare across attempts.
How a VirtualInterview.ai session runs
- 1.Set up the round: role, seniority, focus area, format (general, technical, behavioral, recruiter screen, system design, managerial, case study, technical assessment, leadership, panel, salary negotiation, final / executive), the company if there is one, and the question language (50+ languages).
- 2.Answer by voice or text. The interviewer asks 5 questions on the free plan (up to 20 on Pro) and follows up on what you actually said.
- 3.Read the report: every answer scored for relevance, depth, clarity with what the score is based on, then a retry plan for the weakest answers. Re-answer those and compare.
Pricing: Free (2 interviews/mo) · Pro $20/mo or $200/yr · credit packs from $9. Pro adds unlimited interviews, AI model choice, PDF reports and unlimited resume tools.
Questions people ask
Each coach sets their own price and it is shown on that coach's booking page rather than on a public pricing page, so we do not quote a figure. Expect to pay per session.
Its site mentions an AI interview tool alongside the human coaching. We have not run it end to end, so we do not compare it feature by feature; the human coaching is what Prepfully is known for.
For most rounds and most candidates, practice is what is missing, not insider knowledge — and practice is what an AI interviewer gives you in volume. For a final round at a company with an unusual process, a human who has been through it adds something an AI cannot.
AI rounds first. Arriving at a paid coaching session with your answers already structured means the coach spends the hour on the hard parts instead of on STAR basics.
How this comparison was made
We publish VirtualInterview.ai, so read this as a vendor comparison that tries to be checkable rather than an independent review. Prepfully's pricing and features were read from its own pages on 2026-09-20 (source) and are quoted as displayed; where a price is only shown after sign-up we say so instead of guessing. We do not assign ratings to either product. If something is out of date, email support@virtualinterview.ai and we will correct it and bump the date.
