How practising a mock interview with VirtualInterview.ai works
A mock interview here is a full round, not a question list. You set the role, seniority, focus area, format and language, name the company if there is one, and the AI interviewer asks, listens, and follows up on what you actually said — by voice or text. Afterwards every answer has a score with the reasoning behind it, and the report ends with a retry plan for the two or three answers that cost you most. Re-answer those, compare the scores, and stop when they hold.
What a session looks like
- Set up the round: role, seniority, focus area and format (general, technical, behavioral, recruiter screen, system design, managerial, case study, technical assessment, leadership, panel, salary negotiation, final / executive), the company if there is one, and the question language (50+ languages).
- Answer by voice or text. The interviewer asks 5 questions on the free plan (up to 20 on Pro) and follows up on what you actually said.
- Read the report: every answer scored for relevance, depth, clarity with what the score is based on, then a retry plan for the weakest answers.

A strong answer
A strong answer names the deadline and what was at stake, says what you cut and why (scope, not quality), shows one decision you made under pressure with the trade-off stated, and ends with what shipped and what you changed about planning afterwards. Under two minutes, no preamble.
What the report says
Relevance high: a real deadline, a real trade-off. Depth: the retry plan asks what you told the stakeholder when you cut scope — the answer skipped the conversation. Clarity high: one story, told in order.

It is the only way to rehearse being questioned when no human is available, and the follow-ups are the point: a fixed list lets you prepare answers, an interviewer that reacts to your answer shows you where they fall apart.
Three of the same round is a good minimum: the first shows the format and your thin spots, the second is where structure starts to hold, the third is the one to judge yourself on. After that, re-answer only the lowest-scoring questions.
