Anything else
If none of the ready-made scenarios fits, describe the situation, who you will be talking to and what you want out of it. An AI counterpart plays the other side and the report uses a general scorecard.
Interview scenarios and role-plays: the difference
In an interview scenario the counterpart asks and you answer; the report scores your answers against that scenario's rubric. In a role-play you lead the conversation toward goals, and the counterpart objects, stalls and holds facts back until you ask.
- Interview scenarios (15). An officer, a committee, an investor or a journalist leads. Some end with a simulated decision; a pitch or a talk starts with your uninterrupted delivery.
- Role-plays (9). A prospect, a customer, a team member or an executive reacts to what you say. Each goal is marked met, partly met or missed, with the line from the transcript that shows it.
- Both. You choose friendly, standard or tough pressure, answer by voice or text, and get a report with what to drill next.

Practice scenarios: questions people ask
Answers on what you can practise beyond a job interview, how interviews and role-plays differ, what is free, what to do when your situation is not listed, and which languages are supported.
What can I practise on VirtualInterview.ai besides a job interview?
23 other scenarios: immigration interviews, admissions, awards and residency, job and career conversations, pitches, talks and the press, sales and customer role-plays, management role-plays and anything else. Each has its own AI counterpart, its own questions and its own scorecard, and 9 of them are role-plays in which you lead the conversation.
What is the difference between an interview scenario and a role-play?
In an interview scenario the counterpart asks and you answer, and the report scores your answers against a rubric. In a role-play you lead: you have goals to reach, the counterpart objects and holds information back, and each goal is marked met, partly met or missed from the transcript.
Are the practice scenarios free?
The free plan includes 2 practice sessions a month (your first session runs full length, later ones are 5-minute sessions), with no card, in any scenario. You need a free account to start. Pro is $20/month, and one-time credit packs start at $9.
What if my situation is not on the list?
Describe it in a sentence in the practice box. If it matches a ready-made scenario, that scenario is picked for you; if not, the custom scenario builds a counterpart from your description of the situation and the person you will be talking to.
Are the immigration scenarios legal advice?
No. The visa, green card and citizenship scenarios rehearse the conversation with an officer. They do not assess eligibility or documents, are not affiliated with any government, and the simulated decision does not predict a real one.
Can I practise in a language other than English?
Yes. Sessions run in 50+ languages, by voice or by typing, and the language is chosen when you set up the session.
