What a project manager resume has to show
- Project size: budget, duration, team size, number of stakeholders
- The methodology you used, such as agile, waterfall or a hybrid, and why
- Delivery against plan, including what slipped and how you recovered
- Certifications and tools, stated plainly
Project Manager resume summary example

Experience bullets that carry results
Illustrative example. [X] marks a number only you can supply; do not publish a figure you cannot support.
- Delivered a $[X] ERP migration across [X] sites, finishing [X] weeks ahead of the baseline schedule.
- Introduced a weekly risk register that surfaced [X] issues before they reached the critical path, protecting the launch date.
- Coordinated [X] vendors and [X] internal teams, running a single weekly status that replaced [X] meetings.
- Recovered a project [X] weeks behind by re-sequencing work and agreeing a reduced first release with the sponsor.
Skills for a project manager resume
Hard skills
- Scheduling and budgeting
- Risk and issue management
- Agile and waterfall delivery
- A planning tool such as MS Project or Jira
- Vendor management
Soft skills
- Stakeholder communication
- Negotiation
- Calm under schedule pressure
- Facilitation
Show soft skills through a bullet that proves them rather than as a list of adjectives.
Common project manager resume mistakes
- Giving no project size, so a $50k and a $5m project look the same
- Using "managed" for everything instead of what you decided
- Listing a certification without saying when or which
- Hiding the one project that went badly and what you learned, when the interview will ask
ATS and keyword guidance
Match the posting on methodology and tool names (Agile, Scrum, PMP, risk register, stakeholder management) only where true. Write a certification the way its issuer does, spelled out once with the acronym.
To see which of a posting's skills your resume is missing, run it through the ATS resume checker.
